Up and coming MWC17
Barcelona welcomes the Mobile World Congress, an event where thousands of telecommunication companies gather to network, showcase their latest products and do some deals among each other. With over 100,000 participants this world congress is one of the giants!
Where & when:
The event used to take place in the French city of Cannes but since 2007 it has moved to Barcelona where it takes place every year in late February. This year it will be from Feb 27 – to March 2 2017 at the Fira Gran Via.
Exhibitors: Around 1500 exhibitors are expected this year from more than 71 different countries.
Participants: More than 2,000 companies attending giving a total of more than 100,000 participants from 200 different countries.
What to expect?
Conferences, exhibitions, celebrities, tours and lots of interesting things from companies showcasing their latest gadgets and technologies. And during these 4 days be prepared to attend various exciting events and parties throughout the city of Barcelona.
What’s new this year?
From “MWC Ambassadors” located in 35 different hotels to assist you with anything you might need to know about the congress to special programs such as “Women4Tech”, a program focused on how to increase the participation of women in the mobile industry and showcase best practices for female leaders. Also, a very exciting thing this year is NEXtech, Hall 8 will be dedicated to the most innovating technologies, if you are interested in things such as drones, virtual reality, artificial intelligence and the like, then NEXtech is a must stop.
